
The Audie Murphy
American Cotton Museum
Located here in Greenville, the Audie Murphy American Cotton
Museum is dedicated to the preservation of the history of
the American cotton industry, as well as the history of Hunt
County and the northern Texas Blackland Prairie. The
museum houses a large collection of military memorabilia
relating to Audie Murphy and other Hunt County veterans.
Mary of Puddin Hill
Located in Greenville, the Puddin Hill factory and store
attracts many travelers, buses and tour groups.
Visitors are urged to try all of the tempting samples.
The store carries gourmet foods, gift packages, cookbooks
and various candies. Other highlights include a
dollhouse built of 300 pounds of white chocolate and a
carousel with chocolate ponies.
Northeast Texas
Children's Museum
Located in Commerce, the Northeast Texas Children's Museum
provides hands-on, minds-on opportunities for children to
engage in activities that will strengthen their intellect
and prepare them for a future of competition and
collaboration in the world. The mission of the museum
is to inspire imagination, enhance creativity and build
confidence in children.
Southwest Dairy Museum
Located in Sulphur Springs, the Southwest Dairy Museum is a
typical dairy-farm style building with a five-story silo.
The museum features a series of historical vignettes that
show the life of a dairy farmer before electricity came to
rural America. Scheduled guided tours are available
that allow visitors to participate in demonstrations such as
separating cream.
